Not possible???? I confirmed with Mc prior to purchase and now have my MDA 1000 as a DAC connected to my MX122.

Looking forward to hearing what someone tells you. I was told more than once and I was very, very specific with my question to the point I asked it several different ways just to be 100 percent positive that the MX122 could be "out of the loop" so to speak and NOT do redundant D/A A/D conversions. They said the MX122 was capable of this but the MX160 was not (it digitizes everything no matter what input)

Also my understanding. The MX121 (and I presume MX122) are great prepros, but I wasn't impressed with the DAC in the MX121 for 2-channel music. The bass is very boomy and unnatural. Add an external DAC such as the MDA 1000 and you have a great setup for an all digital rig.
