I sold my Esoteric K-03 and purchased a Byrston BDA-3 to use in conjunction with an Oppo universal player. The combo works well, but I must say I miss seeing the massive Esoteric on my rack.

Quite amazed when I started compiling the list for my records; but, besides the new speakers, addressing power, cabling & isolation was the name of the game in 2017.

Great idea Bob. Do you ever find the voltage out of spec?

I read your question two ways: First -- I measured the top outlet with my Fluke 87 III and the bottom with the "gizmo" -- and both read the same voltage. The "gizmo" as I refer to it with the wife does have an adjustment pot, but; didn't do anything with it since it was identical to the Fluke digital.
Second -- does my voltage sway either up or down from 120v -- no, it's been a steady 122v and at times to 123v and back to 122v since I've owned it. Never seen it higher nor lower than those readings. Best Sir, Bob

Stillpoints LPI. I've used other clamps and found they didn't really do much, maybe a little to help a slightly warped record, but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised with what this brought to my playback.
W4S 10th Anniversary DAC-2. Still breaking this thing in. New KLAudio RCM, I bought this as an upgrade to my existing v2 because it has the added cooling fan. VPI 3D arm...that I still haven't installed. Bob's devices SUT for future MC cart purchase. Plans for 2018: MC cart for my TT. Possible Stillpoints Ultra SS purchase for my TT. Power cords. Continuing to organize the cable mess behind my TV stand (TV, cable box, blu-ray, CDP, DAC, W4S PS-1, Mac mini and video game systems). |

Just a pair of in ears, but what a pair, the Sony N3AP. Fully the equal of the Senn ie 800's. Nearly went the Audeze route for over ears. And rediscovered my old, fairly basic Walkman Mp3 player, nice revelation with my N3's, within reason. No real plans for '18, but who knows. I have moved upscale in me domicile, so I might get to the mid hi fi crown after all. Liked the Focal biggies I auditioned, but then, who doesn't?
