Default 802D base driver gone ?

I noticed that the lower base drivers on my 7 year old 802Ds do not vibrate like the top base drivers. Is that normal ??????
It also looks like one of the lower base driver is dead. I switched amp inputs and amps and dead base unit remains on same speaker.

Does it happen on both left and right speakers?

Ed.......Are your B&W 802D's still under warranty? If so, get your dealer involved.

I'm so sorry to hear that happen...

Aren't you able to call the distributer and solve the problem? Changing a driver wouldn't that be hard..

I have spoken to tech support in MA at the distributor level on two occasions, and at least gotten a warm body to answer questions on the phone.

I would try that route if you have not already done so.

Good luck - should not be too expensive, but please report back and let us know how you make out.

I don't expect it to be covered under warranty. All I want to do is talk to someone from B&W about the problem. I call but can not get through, so I leave a message and provide my name and phone #. They just don't call me back. I guess that the $12,000 I spent on the speakers is yesterdays news.

Ed... Sorry to learn of the driver issue. I've contacted B&W a couple of times to ask questions and each time they were very responsive. A lot of folks request assistance on the Bowers & Wilkins Twitter site and usually get an immediate response. You might want to give that a try if they don't respond from North America Service & Support or directly from the B&W Contact page.

They offer several methods for getting to a support person. If one doesn't work, try another. Hope you get it resolved quickly!
