BlueSky,

Good story. I felt I was witnessing the horrific event. Good thing the installers dropped the speaker not you and your buddy.

Where's the "horror story"?
There was an accident. It happens. They didn't do anything stupid nor did they do anything malicious.
You received a new pair and all is well.

The ''horror'' was that he saw his new 801's bouncing down the stairs. That can't be a happy occasion. I, for one would have nightmares about it for the next few weeks or so

moving my 802's into my new house, in the spring...... montana springs are very muddy, and the house had no landscaping, so it was a very messy move in... anyway,, the 802 on a handtruck, went splat face down in the mudd.....

i was horrified, but it survived, and i still own it.... true story

Newbie here.
First I like to say I am glad to fine a website with a thread dedicated to B&W speakers. Before writing on this thread I checked out some of the equipment listed here and was very impressed and have to admit my system is modest compared to a lot of systems on Audio Aficionado however like a stray bird I feel more comfortable finding a nest with similar enthusiasts of B&W speakers.
I could not imagine witnessing a pair of 801's being dropped down stairs after waiting months for delivery. I can't say other than being VERY ANGRY what kind of emotions I would have spent on those persons dropping those 801's.
All's well that ends well...That's calm.
I know handling any of the heavy equipment that I own moving pieces were handled exclusively by myself and a GOOD friend. Reliable good friend. Just the same I am glad things worked out and the speakers were replaced.

Welcome! You'll find knowledgeable and accepting people here regardless of what equipment you may have, people who are only too happy to live vicariously through you as you plan and fulfill your quest for audio nirvana and will tell it like it is should you desire an opinion on anything from soup to nuts!

Be well and listen to the music!

Thanks for the Welcome!
I understand that there are some areas on this forum that I cannot use until I have ten posts...something to do with SPAM!
I wanted to list my equipment and place an Avatar...it's a dozie.
