Sometimes it's very good when you're questioning about other people hearing abilities. Let me tell you a story about when we were in the car-audio dB contest 10 other guys could not hear specific section in the music, were one of our guys that can hear better than other 10 "dB judges" when he says "did you hear that"??? hum~ (we said hear what)?? he said there is a background sound in the recording when one person gets up from chair and left the room... and we could not hear anything, However, after long period of time we all 10 people start listing and training our hearing and we start understanding what he was talking about. Why? because he questioned on our listing capabilities.

I could rip you a new one for that comment but I'm going to let it pass
I'll just say that you really should look into passive bi-amping vs active bi-amping to see what's really going on with the amplifiers interaction with the speaker under both methods. |

Thanks not ripping me where is these cute icons you guys are using?
Listen, when you are calling the B&W manufacturer they are giving you an advice according the build-in cross into there speakers, and Not passive crossovers, and manufacturer knows the Best way to get the best out of the speakers it's to bi-amp ONLY whatever crossover is in that speaker. And by the way Original Listing is about 803D + MC252... we are talking about 803D + MC252 here, and I think you are talking about 802 or something...

for the icons use the 'Go Advanced' option rather than using the default quick reply. There are many, many different animations in there.
I'm not singling out any speaker/amp but speaking universally. A 803D/MC252 combo will work great. I'm just saying he would get more benefit from getting a more powerful amp (2x the power or more) like say the 501's that were suggested then bi-amping but with 501's that means buying 2 amps though which is pricey just like bi-amping. If he is only insterested in McIntosh then the MC452 would get him more power via a single amp but since it's not even double the watts there may not be a lot of benefit unless the newer design is just straight up sonically superior to the older MC252. |

I heard many many times with one single MC452 amp connected 803D, but still 2-set's of MC252's using Parallel mono bi-amp will bit with: warmth sound and better stereo separation and the best sweet staging than single MC452 can provide hands down. (i there any hands down icon i can use)

Bi-amping is great but sincere respect for each other here is much more important.
