Mcintosh MX 122 questions
My mx 122 is silent from 0 to 40 db, narry a peep. 50 to 80 is all good. Why would the first 40 db of volume be silent like this. I 've tried two different power amps, 2 different sets of speakers and speaker cables, and both balanced and unbalanced cables. I'm in a 2 channel set up. Just 2 speakers both set to large. I just don't get it. My current power amp is the mc 452.
Do any of you know how to set the mx 122 back to factory settings. I don't have my manual with me, I read the online manual and can't seem to find it. A huge thank you to anyone who can offer me any insight in to these problems. Mikey |

Hi Mikey,
The following steps will return the MX122 to factory default settings: 1. Press the STANDYBY On Push-button to switch Power OFF to the MX122. 2. When the unit is OFF, press and hold-in the "MOVIE" and "MUSIC" Front Panel Push-buttons, followed by pressing the STANDBY ON Pushbutton. 3. When the MX122 is powered ON and all the Front Panel Information Display Segments are illuminated, release the Front Panel Push-buttons "MOVIE" and "MUSIC". 4. Perform the steps in the MX122 Initial Setup Guide. (separate instruction sheet). 5. If you previously stored all the MX122 User Setting to a PC file stored on your computer, now is the time to reload data into the MX122. Let us know if you need for us to provide details as mentioned above in step 4 ---the setup guide's separate instruction sheet. Best Sir, Bob
