I assume others have better luck than me but I’m out. But those round glass 6sn7 look so cool.[emoji848]
There was a fire that shut the Shuguang factory down.

It's possible that many of the tubes being sold presently are sub-par. i.e. unscrupulous sellers. Your issues with the Sophia tubes is disconcerting.

Default Rectifier Tubes LP-3.1 & Hot Rod Amp

I have a LP-3.1 preamp and it uses a 5y3 rectifier tube and a Hot Rod amp that I bought has a 5U4 rectifier tube.I have a pair of Mullard 5ar4 I would like to try and I was wondering if this was ok.

Go for it. Watch for red playing on the amp. Especially if running low power output tubes like 6v6 of 6f6.

I plan on using Gold Lion KT-88’s ,KT-66’s and EL-34’s, I have a pair of Svetlana winged C 6l6’s but I am afraid to try them. Those tubes are new but I think they are 10-15 years old(they have been sitting in a box in my closet)

Roll on. Should be no issues. Try those winged Cs too. They should sound fantastic.

Don't use the 5AR4 in the LP 3.1

The 5AR4 will be fine with KT88's etc.

No worries, they are NOS new production tubes. Give them a go.
