https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?thr...t-down.685231/ It's possible that many of the tubes being sold presently are sub-par. i.e. unscrupulous sellers. Your issues with the Sophia tubes is disconcerting. Last edited by FloridaBoy; 05-12-2020 at 06:56 PM. |

Rectifier Tubes LP-3.1 & Hot Rod Amp
I have a LP-3.1 preamp and it uses a 5y3 rectifier tube and a Hot Rod amp that I bought has a 5U4 rectifier tube.I have a pair of Mullard 5ar4 I would like to try and I was wondering if this was ok.

Go for it. Watch for red playing on the amp. Especially if running low power output tubes like 6v6 of 6f6.

I plan on using Gold Lion KT-88’s ,KT-66’s and EL-34’s, I have a pair of Svetlana winged C 6l6’s but I am afraid to try them. Those tubes are new but I think they are 10-15 years old(they have been sitting in a box in my closet)

Roll on. Should be no issues. Try those winged Cs too. They should sound fantastic. |
