Really dumb in my opinion, these amps. will have like zero resale value .
It's a connoisseur mono-block set for sure. Considering there are 16 of those 300B beasts that go into a pair and the 300B is the the highest powered class A triode power tube ever developed, to some it is the holy grail of tube amps. 80 watts is actually more than most need since these will be paired with appropriate speakers. I get by with a lot less with not very efficient speakers.

Sure, the $61k per pair is very steep but in high end audio anything goes. The $3-5k price you suggested would not even be possible in China since there are over $12k of 300B alone in the monoblock pair...

Serge you and several others here convinced me to upgrade from 250 watts per channel to 500 watts per channel ! What happened to needing more headroom, more space between instruments, more effortless bass with improved imaging? You see I remember our conversations from 2009 not to change the thread getting back to tubes , I hope they are good.

The tube crowd never obsesses over power like solid state guys do. Tubes do tend to sound more "muscular" at lower volumes while transistors like to operate in a "different" zone. Sort of like Supercharger vs Turbo
