Sadly I'm in Australia. At work I'm lucky getting MQA to stream without dropping. On a good day it's just about doable. With two streams, its nigh impossible.

I'd be highly surprised if I can stream even one HD uncompressed stream.

Qobuz will provide up to 24/192 FLAC streaming if that makes any difference with 24/96.

CHESKY RECORDS announce MQA CDs

http://audiomatters.blogspot.ca/2017...+(AudioMatters)

With Chesky and 2L aboard, and being a few of many respected high quality award winning niche studio recording labels, who may be next.....Reference Recordings ?

Just stating a point. If there's no issue supporting MQA with these labels, WHY is MQA being subjected through so much scrutiny? With all respect to them and all their informative insights enlightening us audio enthusiasts; Doug Schneider, Mark Waldrep, LINN , PS Audio and others....potentially ego and or being business competitor driven! IMHO.

I've read through most of these pages and honestly just learning about MQA after reading about BlueSound. I don't stream (do have iTunes) and generally purchase CD's/SACD's/vinyl. A new Chicago CD is like $2.00 after all and I'm just plain stubborn with new stuff.

My system pales in comparison to most here, but I just don't see much downside with return policies and giving this a try.

I'd like to commend James for this thread, forums can be rough (not here rarely) and it's nice to see this type of manufacturer involvement.

Chesky also hinted that MQA downloads are in the offering from HDTracks "as soon as the store is ready."

The most interesting section to me from the above article details David Chesky's impressions of MQA:

Chesky feels that MQA sounds a little more analog, relaxed, and organic sounding than other digital issues. When asked to say more about his personal impressions of the format, he opted for language clearly his own.

"Listen, what is real and what is not real? You sit in front of two boxes in your home, and it's a magic trick. But we can't say live is always better, because some halls are over-reverberant, excessively dry, or just plain bad. Sometimes, the recording sounds better than the live experience. MQA addresses digital harshness, and gets the timing and transients right. It's like walking through the woods and smelling the trees vs putting Febreze in your house."

Chesky . . . the same people who brought us HDTracks, home of some fine, expensive recordings, and also some lousy recordings oversampled and sold at high prices as HR. As much as I enjoyed some of the Chesky-label recordings, I wouldn't bet that something is good because they are brokering it.
