I don't think you can go wrong upgrading to R series...I might suggest a used dCS Scarlatti as a DAC however...I think you might be blown away...The Scarlatti's are pretty reasonable used now that Vivaldi is out. dCS may have factory certified units also...just a option to consider.

Err… I think he is considering Vivaldi as per his other thread…

Costs going up I'm sure. Not sure, but they may have also made a few tweeks as that's when they usually raise prices. Still great values as I compare them to many of the amps costing well over 10k more. Too bad though, but everything keeps going up these days.

If I was on the fence, I think I'd buy now to save the money. That means the used market in a couple of years will also be higher which makes it a better investment now. Better this for current owners than them discounting them steeply and offering B stock the way Pass does. They ruined a great component for me by doing that. JMHO. Thanks for sharing btw.

Do you know if the KX-5 Twenty would be going up as well and the rest of the 5 series?

It does not surprise me as this is supply and demand. It took me almost 4 months to receive the KX-5 Twenty I ordered.

Yup, confirmed by my distributor as well. If you still haven't upgraded your KX-R to Twenty status, now is the time to do it. You'll get to experience Ayre's best product by far.

Yes I think the KXR is their best unit by far. I also feel the QX5 is in the top three or so pieces as it hits much higher than it's price range. Also that Codex is a sick unit for only 1800. Some incredible pieces for even the new prices to be. Rarified air for my wallet, but I sure appreciate what they are and what they do.
