I picked mine up the same time as Dewey and I am also running it with a MC207. I've had no shutdown problems with it either. However I will mention that I have an issue with my unit in which approximately 45s after powering down, the mx121 sends a 12V pulse over the power control trigger and turns my c2300 back on. A few other people had this issue and supposedly there is a fix for this problem. I doubt the two are related but I thought I would give you a heads up in case you run into the problem down the road.

My point is, these newer units (like 6 months ago) have the new power save/shutdown technology in them. All new Mc components do. Did your dealer advise you of this? Did your dealer advise you that they may not have ironed out all the kinks in the technology yet (that's what my dealer told me)?

This is my guess as to what is happening, but I would definitely take it into your dealer for a check.

If you're unable to problem solve it...sell it. Turning off four times during a movie would drive me nuts.

No doctors here for that sort of thing

I was not advised of this. I have checked the SLEEP mode and its not that. Is there anything anywhere that would advise me of this new shut down technology? It didn't use to happen???

Also, the volume display is gone? It doesn't appear on the projected screen anymore???

Hmmmmmmmm....

Last thing to check....do you have HDMI control function enabled anywhere? A connected device such as a panel or projector with power saving enabled may send a shutdown signal through HDMI control causing your equipment to be turned off.

Sony TVs have this function which makes a fuzzy logic determination based on movement in the room! Unless you watch nothing but psychological horror movies that scare you out of your chair, I would recommend disabling such a function.

Check power saving settings on all devices tethered to your MX121 via HDMI if you have HDMI control enabled.

As for volume display, if the projector is using its graphic, it will be because HDMI control is enabled & passed through to the MX121. Alternatively, it has been disabled in the MX121 menus. Denon has these various OSD options so I would presume the M121 has too.

Thanks Steve but they are all disabled. Never had any use for them.

It seems ever since the processor was reset things started going wrong? Just got the picture and sound under control too!

Bugger... I had issues with my Denon after it was upgraded. Audyssey & auto room calibration were not working properly in my case. Micro processor resets to defaults did not fix the problems. Before sending it back, I decided to re flash the firmware & then do another complete micro processor reset to defaults & set the whole thing up again. The firmware update process fixed everything.

Maybe your box needs to be reflashed.
