David.......Yes, you can play music files from a USB hard drive or you can copy music files from a USB hard drive to the N100H hard drive.

Beginning with Aurender System Software 4.3.130 USB copying for playback from a USB drive can be activated from the "Disk Information" tab in "Settings" in the Aurender Conductor App. You can play files directly from an attached USB storage device (one device only) or copy the content into the Aurender's hard drive by selecting the command "Copy".

I have a back up of iTunes library on a glyph 1 tb SSD usb hd and ran the aurrender music manager software. When I plug the usb hd into the surrender and restart the music server I can only read 27 out of a few thousand albums. Out of the 27 the artwork only shows up on some of the albums. Any idea what I am doing wrong ? Anyway to fix this ?

Respect the artwork it can't exceed a pixel size.
I don't remember what size is the standard.

David.......As I understand it, you do not have to use AMM when using the USB hard drive plugged into the Aurender. The AMM software provides an interface between a NAS on your home network and the N100H.

I posted this in post 71 above. Perhaps you missed it:

Beginning with Aurender System Software 4.3.130 USB copying for playback from a USB drive can be activated from the "Disk Information" tab in "Settings" in the Aurender Conductor App. You can play files directly from an attached USB storage device (one device only) or copy the content into the Aurender's hard drive by selecting the command "Copy".

That is directly from the Aurender website. There is no mention of Aurender Media Manager being required to use the USB hard drive when connected direct to the N100H.

I ran the software again and this time the Aurender does find everything and play however the art work is present on some albums and absent of some even of the same artist. The SSD usb HD plays instantly which is nice. I am trying to decide if I should just start using the internal HD for high def. music once I upgrade my dac. and not bother putting my current library on it ? From the app. you can't tell the music is on the external HD. This is the HD https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I had the same problem with my music library from iTunes. You have to use a program like Perfect Tunes against the data base it will embed the art work into each file. For some reason iTunes doesn't carry the art work with the files. The program works great. Hope this helps
