Default Teslas wait in line to be charged in California on Thanksgiving

70 minutes for a full charge at a Tesla fast charging station.

Battery anxiety - one of the biggest reasons I won’t pull the trigger on an all electric.

Typical use of an electric vehicle is plugging it in when you get home. Every morning I leave with a full charge and can go 150-175 miles without anxiety. I normally travel less than 20 miles per day. So this works for me.

Many vehicle can go 250-350 on a full charge. Only if you travel far, do you have to plan your route accordingly.

I haven't been to a gas station in 4 years.

Reminds me of the gas lines during the oil embargo. I’m not sure I would ever own an all eclectic car. It seems like hybrid is the best of all worlds. I totally understand the the utility (pardon the pun) for those with short commutes.

I don't think I will ever own one either. After working on them at the dealer, (Honda and Toyota) I'm less than impressed by them. The other problem is you still have to produce electricity, which means natural gas or coal until we can get enough wind and solar technology in place and on the grids.

Sure pollution is reduced, until you have to dispose of the battery which contains all kinds of nasties. If you are keeping the car long term battery replacement is expensive and leaves a carbon footprint.

Hydrogen fuel cell technology would the a better alternative, but that has it's drawbacks as well. I think internal combustion engines will be around for a while yet before being phased out and surpassed by alternate technology.

I've read about the all electric examples being used in racing as test platforms, Hot Rod Jan 2020 features an all electric Camaro in racing trim, along with a few others. No doubt that electric cars can be as fast or faster than similar internal combustion vehicles. For me that's a plus

think about it, you're waiting in line for hours perhaps and once you get to the hose/plug you've got another hour plus .........

we will always have to produce electricity, as for solar and wind, it will never totally replace fossil, nuclear and hydro.

Whenever I see comments like "I'll never own a electric or hybrid" what pops into my head is "OK Boomer". Those of us who are of the Baby Boomer generation are soon to be irrelevant when it comes to defining what vehicles will be offered in the future. Hell, as history has shown we will soon become irrelevant in determining the future of anything.
