I've no idea, but I'm confident that the Accuphase engineers will find something to improve ...

Id like to see a class A amp with 200-300 watts @ 8ohm doubling down to 1ohm even if it requires two chassis per channel.

Corresponds to a pair of bridged A-250 (400W@8Ω), though officially "only" doubling down to 2Ω.

I have wondered when you bridge the amps, are they still Class A? Or are they class A/B.

Bridging does not change the bias current. They remain Class A, but with higher output power.

Thanks for the response. I was wondering because in the documentation it states that the A-250 operates in pure Class A up until 100 watts, after that switches to A/B.

I have never encountered a speaker that would remotely require A-250’s to be bridged. They drive my TAD R1 MKII’s with ease.

I had my A200s bridged, driving TAD CR1s - it was glorious. That said, I’m now driving them with an e650 for a few months while my house is renovated and that’s pretty good too!! When the house is done, I pull the TAD R1 M2 out of storage and will run them with the A200s.

More accuphase amp is a good thing.
