Perhaps this is why he had decided to allow the new line to run along with the .5 series. Maybe the people who don't like the current look of the .5 will like the .8 look better. I like the look of the pre .8 better as well.

Maybe they are some new products, or the Xs. I'll ask Desmond Harrington @ Pass.
I think you'll be very pleased with the INT-30A, it's very conservatively rated it terms of its real world capability. I've been driving a pair of B&W 802 Diamonds with this amp without any difficultly.

Hi Bob,

That's very impressive. I remember reading that the XA-30.5 could deliver 130 watts per channel into 8 ohms before clipping. And with the first 30 watts in Class A that's a nice amount of headroom.

Cheers,
Ken

LOL. The first night I had my X600.5 amps I felt like a car was coming at me with blue headlights. I went and cut two pieces of cardboard slightly smaller than the facade, slid them in, and have enjoyed my dark amps ever since.

Now I just have to figure out how to get rid of the black circle behind the volume knob on the XP-20 preamp.

Bud,

That is a great idea. Late at night, I sometimes enjoy listening to music in the dark and the blue lights really bother me. The slots in the front façade of the amps are perfect to hold a piece of cardboard. It's almost like they were designed for it.

Cheers,
Ken
