Reading between the lines, Dennis has stated the CAD 805 to be his best sounding amp. That being said, he has stated that his latest Inspire PSE amp with upgraded power supply and KT77's gives the CAD 805 a run for its money.

Problem with all SET amps is they are so speaker dependent that "best sounding" is at least 50% speaker selection (or more). I certainly enjoyed his CAD-572 MkII monoblock SET amps, but simply couldn't afford to run a $300 tube (the 572) that burned up after ~1000hr of use. Wish he would do a KT-88 based monoblock amp, but he seems to have no interest in same. Probably too busy with what he is doing.

There is a review of an Inspire Fire-Bottle SE Stereo Power Amplifier on the 10 Audio blog. The blogger also owns CAD 805's and compares them. I believe that the Inspire gear is a sharp stink in the eye of the present Cary owners.
