Just a reminder that because of Ramadan, the Saudi Arabian GP at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit will take place this Saturday, March 9 at 9AM EST/12 PM EST.

Halfway through FP1, Norris is fastest with Russell in P2, and...Albon in P3! (Go, Alex! )

My prediction is no change from last Saturday. Maybe some shuffling from 5th, back, but not much else.

Top 10 qualifiers, especially the top 6, seem to have learned quite a bit from the last race. The bottom half of the field seems to have fallen further back. I can see the backmarkers helping to bunch the top 5 or 6 as they pass them in the 2nd half of the race. Hope it is more interesting than last week.

Good race today, Max 1st, Checo 2nd (hopefully no more griping from Marko), Piastri 4th, and 18-year old Oli Bearman *P7* driving the Ferrari in his first-ever F1 GP.

Also Bearman voted Driver of the Day.

Apparently, the matter concerning Markos suspension and subsequent ouster from Red Bull has been squashed after he (Marko) met with Red Bull’s higher-ups and then told Sky Germany he “will carry on, yes”.

Christian Horner reiterated that he "denied that he’d had a falling out with Marko, saying: “My relationship with Helmut is no issue. I think that he’s always been outspoken. But that’s Helmut.”

Yes, the waters are going to 'calm down' from here on, timely with a long
distance trip all the way to Australia. What it is clear that Ralf Schumacher
and Verstappen's Dad have been putting fuel to the fire with some
ongoing agenda.

I love these modern day fairy tales. With all the establishment of modern
sports, it is great to see a 'left curve' thrown and in this case with the
sudden case of Sainz's Appendicitis, a young driver needs to fill the void,
and to do that for Ferrari? Wow, what a story! Not quite the same with
Hulkenberg doing so for Perez during Covid, since he was already an
established F1 driver, albeit a semi-retired one. This is as big as it gets.
I loved Bearman's first laps, so keen to overtake everybody.
