Kalvin has told me it's not entirely related to the remote but more on how the unit ( Ref Ann ) recieves the signal admixed with interference from digital devices, routers, computers etc.

There's an Upgrade or whatever you call it which is dealer installed like a download. I wonder who has already had this.
Asterisk, while of course Kalvin knows best, that does not seem to be consistent with the fact that I notice quite a difference in operating angles between the two remotes when used with the same unit.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

I've gone into panic mode several times when just trying to lower the volume and the unit shuts down.

Now I have to assume this Swan lake stance whenever I have to click the remote to get a clear shot. My wife breaks up in laughter whenever she sees me do that.

Cheers!

Regarding the use of the gold coupling caps in lieu of the white teflon caps, the same gold cap was likewise used in the new Ref 75 power amp. Strange since the LS 17SE uses the white Teflon cap.

I had this problem when I was using rechargeable batteries in the REF Anniversary remote. Then I remembered they have lower voltage than normal batteries and went back to good quality top alkaline batteries and never had this type of problems again. My ecological conscience feels guilty, but the remote works flawless!

Thanks Wizard!

Is it supposed to slot above the Ref 40 and be their new top of the line?

For 30 large this can only mean the ref40 has been displaced as top of the line.
