Default Keke was thristy

Keke is full grown now and big enough to drink from the fountain. He also likes to drink from the bird bath in the yard. He prefers both to his water bowl.

Cute. I love cats! Except when they rip up furniture. Mine won't TOUCH a scratcher, but the couch looks very inviting.

Lol, mine loves to sit on top of and chew the corner of cardboard boxes. She leaves a huge pile of cardboard shreds.

Nice looking cat, Dan.

Keke was Marlene's cat. Someone had abandoned him at about 6 weeks old and we found him under my tool shed meowing one morning. Marlene instantly fell in love with it. He will be two years old this July. Since Marlene passed away I have inherited Keke. He is slowly warming up to me and me to him. He's an outside cat during the day and spends his nights closed in a shed where his bed, food, water, and cat box are located. I let him out every morning about 8:30, and by about 7:00 in the evening he is ready to go inside. Keke is independent and not that big on being petted. He will let me pet him in the morning when I first let him out, and sometimes just before he goes in, but the rest of the time he will scamper off if I try to get a pet in when he is near.

I like having him around as an outside cat, but no way will he get to come inside my home. I can't tolerate fur and the general destruction that's common with all inside pets. I don't blame an animal for doing what comes naturally, but they can do it outside. The good thing is Keke likes being outside. He chases and catches lizards, crickets, and butterflies. He tries to catch squirrels but he isn't fast enough. He hides in the bushes hoping to catch a bird but I haven't seen him succeed yet. He has caught a number of little field mice. By the end of the day he is ready to go in the shed for the night. He likes to nap during the day up on the deck. So far we are getting along just fine.

Jerome.......I gave Gus to a friend of Marlene. She has 20 acres, a big eight stall barn, a riding arena, and four other horses that Gus has made friends with. I like Gus, but I am not a horse person like Marlene was. She loved her horse. I know she would be pleased to know our friend has him now. Gus is only a half mile from my home so I can visit him whenever I wish. He gets a big pasture to graze in, and is rode regularly. It is much better for him than standing in my pasture all day by himself and only seeing me when I fed him in the morning and at night. I believe Gus is much happier now.

Here is Gus in the far stall with two of his new pals. They're waiting to be fed.

Now it's just me and Keke keeping each other company. This photo is Keke right when I let him out of the shed in the morning. He's already spotted a squirrel.

Hello Dan,
That’s all good for Gus and for you. I am happy that you found such a great place for him.
Keke looks like a nice cat to spend some time with.
I learnt to love horses a lot since my daughter started to learn how to ride.
Here she is with her favorite horse.
Sending you all our thoughts of best friendship.

Jerome.......What a wonderful photo of your daughter and her favorite horse. I have noticed through my life that females seem naturally drawn to horses. I like Gus and enjoyed seeing him in the pasture but I have no other interest in horses beyond admiring their beauty. Horses are social animals. I always felt a bit sad for Gus because there were no other horses around for him to socialize with. Now he has pals, is being rode, and has a much bigger grass pasture to graze in. The woman I gave Gus to has known him since Marlene first got him in 2008, so she is familiar with him and pleased to own him now. He is being well cared for.
