Here is a few of the two collars stock on the left, and Linn on the right. the total height of the Stock collar is 3/4 " holding the cue pot 5/8" from the arm board. The Linn collar will offer a 5/8" lower mounting than the stock collar! The red oak armboard is mounted but will need a bit of trimming for optimum fit.
Regards,
Jim

Here is one to give an idea of what the finished mount will look like.

That is going to be a great looking table with the 9cc on that plinth. Makes me want to investigate something with my 160s/Unitrac. I know, maybe clean and polish the dust cover, that should bring it back.

I love the looks of the veneered Thorens decks. That 125 is very nice and the CF switch plate on the 160 is a great touch.

Ok Here is the latest update. Mounting a Project 9cc tone arm to a TD160 is no walk in the park even with the right mount. It was quite a learning experiance that will have to be completely redone. I spent about 3 hours mounting the arm today only to realize that the arm board my friend cut for me was not flat, but had an elevation on the one side, also the new mount will need to be rotated to the left to allow the arm full movement. At this point it will only play 3/4 of an album before the arm stops moving inward. I thought the adjustment on the armrest accommodated that adjustment, but it does not.

The good news!!! The arm and table work very well together. After a quick setup the blackbird sounds like I've never heard it sing. OMG Lots of weight and richness in the output, bass to die for, and delicate nuances are amazing. This combo will work! I will recut my own arm board this week and re-install the arm next Friday. The initial results are spectacular and I can't wait for Friday to get here and do this mounting right. It's always easier the second time around!
Regards,
Jim

That looks great. Glad to read it will come together as you want it and that it meets your current sonic requirements. Now to find those records where the last track on each side is not worth listening to until next week. That is going to be tough.

Default Done with a Pic!

After a very early morning and another hour after work the table is up and running. The Gimble issue was corrected and the arm board leveled. I now onw a mix of old and new that is easily the best table I have owned! Now it's time to enjoy!

Regards,
Jim

Default TD160 Hot Rod daily use

After living with this table for some time, I'm very pleased with the results. The table/arm/cart combo throw a huge deep souldstage with a very accurate presentation of all insturments and vocals with great attack and decay. I'm very pleased!! Next up is a Thorens TD150/SME309 project. Or maybe a Hadcock, or maybe a Jelco, or maybe.........
Regards,
Jim
