Hi, my processor is Marantz avp 8003. Feeding 8 meters of Kimber PBJ Balanced to Ref40 processor input.
I don't have lot s of fund for home theater stuffs. Cannot use expensive cables..

I suspect I will loss punchy bass because my moon amp has 1000 watt at 4 ohm. And damping factor of 1000
Or more. Tube amplifiers will never matched these spec.

I am sure ref250 will make great music driving my Sophia3. Not quite sure result when use to drive salon2.
I use these speakers alternatively.

Right now ref. 250 and Dagostino Momentum are on my short list.
And itchy to get a pair of F212 too.
I will have to work a whole year for these! Sigh..
Thanks for advises.

Thanks a lot Dafos.
I live in business center of Bangkok. Lots of water is surrounding the vicinity.
But it s still dry at my place. But seeing water from the plane flying above Bangkok is
Quite shocking, it cover most parts of central thailand and is moving down to Bangkok.
I moved my cars and stereo to safe places already. I miss music from my stereo
Very much. They are in boxes.

Thanks again for every cheering.

Glad to know your gear and other valuables are in a safe place. In September 2009 here in Manila, a terrible strom lifted flood levels so quickly that so many people, lots of them audiophiles I knew, had no time to transfer their gear and other valuables to a safe place. I know of a submerged ref 210, even after having been thoroughly dried and repaired, that is having regular reliability issues two years thereafter.

Thanks, Dafos, and don't worry, I also have a roll of thick plastic sheet, 4*30 meters.
Ready to wrap anything including a piano or even a car. I will not submerge my Ref 40

Hi toga, haven't heard from you for some time. FYI and for other readers out there, it may interest you to know that i was able to directly compare my ref 150 vs a kt 120 retrofitted ref 610, which on paper, seems like a gross mismatch, 150w vs 750w! Driving B&W 800d's, the ref 150 showed how far ARC has pushed the limits of the state of the art. The ref 150 was faster, quicker and in fact seemed to even go deeper in the bass, while at the same time, sounding sweet, smooth and oh so full. Soundstage size was virtually similar, and if the mighty 610 showed any advantage, it probably was slightly more composed when pushed playing complex musical material, as should be expected with all that massive headroom. Of course, if your speakers are extremely inefficient or your musical taste favors big orchestral works, hard rock or home theater use, then the 610's may better suit your needs.I'll probably be trying the ref 250 to determine if the extra 100w is worth double the asking price of the ref 150. But for now, I'm truly impressed how arcs stereo ref 150, in parameters that matter to me musically, surpassed the mighty ref 610. It seems to me that simply retrofitting the older ref amps with kt 120's cannot bring the performance up to the level of the new ref amps whose power supplies, power and output transformers and those new Teflon caps were designed specifically to maximize the performance of the kt 120 tube.

Hi Dafos,
Your comparison between those models are interesting. This makes
Me really wanna hear ref 250.

I ve been busy with some examination and have trouble login with iPad
My stereo system are not moved back to listening room yet due lack of
Men power.

The update is that I saw the ref250 for real for the first time. Also
Have just demoed Momentum power amp yesterday. They were so fresh
And used to drive fresh Vandersteen Quattro, I can't say anything much
As they are too new and were driving unfamiliar speakers. But those
Fancy needles didn't seem like to move. And when they moved, the
Motion didn't t as smooth or emotional as those on Mcintosh or Accuphase.
I think due to linear watt scale rather than log scale calibration of the meters.

After finish the exam I have to give myself a big reward.
Let s see what will it be.

Thanks a lot Dafos. It's quite hard on what I have to take. But If today not ready, I have
chance to try it next time.

Now I will have to forget about music and concentrate on the exam until end of Feb 2012, I will be here again.
