Some great ideas here!

One thing I’d add is that you should balance your door choice with the rest of the room construction.

For example If you have built a ‘room within a room’ with isolated walls and hvac, then you should spring for a quality door as it will likely be the biggest source of transmission.

If you use normal construction; even double drywall, green glue, and clips then you don’t need a studio quality door because you’ll get sound transmission from the walls and ceiling anyway.

Good point Tom - I’m going through this exercise now and everything should be relative otherwise you’ll end up creating another set of problems or spending unnecessarily...
