Default Sub-woofer interconnect

I experienced the difference in analog interconnects forty years ago... Then digital, and speaker. So, when it came to the sub-woofer I assumed it probably made a small difference, but never did any actual experiments... Just bought middle of the road sub-woofer interconnect. I now have my dream system... And need a couple of shorter interconnects for them. Anyone actually do experimentation to find out how much difference sub-woofer interconnects have and what the effect is?

My experience is admittedly limited - but did start at the 'bottom' using standard red and white cheap RCA ICs, then did a step up to some 'sub' specific ICs (Audioquest's Sub-X, and Black Thunder).

I even tried an experiment one afternoon swapping in some ICs from the Blueray player, MIT Shotgun S3's and used those to the sub.

Nothing really conclusive or startling, but stuck with the Black Thunders.

Two things did make a noticeable change for the better - a 'sub-dude' from Aurelex and an upgraded PS Audio power cord.

ymmv...
