Back in 2003 Sony manufactured a nice HD DirecTV satellite receiver, as did Zenith. The Sony SAT-HD200 retailed for $899.00. Here's a link to an artical on the Sony SAT-HD200 verses the Zenith HD-SAT520, which was also a high-end satellite receiver.

I had one of those HD200's, but they didn't have nearly the functionality of the new Directv boxes, particularly the HD-DVR ones. THe HR-21 and HR-23 with their black gloss finishes actually don't go badly with McIntosh components.
