Cary V12 used in a studio!
Really great video. I think he uses Cary 211s in his other studio!
His knowledge of the sound of different tubes is impressive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbC2W0LVwvA Last edited by jdandy; 03-04-2018 at 07:58 PM. |

Owned a pair of V12 monoblocks for awhile. Absolutely wonderful sound, but hard on tubes. Blew the driver on my Guarneri Mementos when one of the tubes fried. Went solid state after that.

The system in the video has been upgraded to 211's now. Did you see hoe he was running the V12? He was only using four tubes per side. Two in triode, and two in ultra-linear!

Got the "R" version.
The V12R in not only a nice sounding amplifier, it looks the part too. A rare and interesting piece of audio history. Running NOS Sylvania front-end tubes, Mundorf EVO Silver-Gold coupling caps, EL34-BSTR power tubes, sounds great in 50w triode or 100w ultra linear mode. Mate it up with a Cary SLP-98 tube preamplifier with NOS tubes and it's magic. Last edited by decooney; 08-10-2018 at 10:22 PM. |

Liking these new Mundorf EVO Silver-Gold coupling caps quite a bit in the V12R at 80hrs break-in time. Smooth, open, airy.

Awesome program. I just imported my 3D autocad file of the studio which by the way has mods not in this picture... and looks very cool.

Love this amp and video - I’d love to find one of these amps and put it through its paces.
