Help with spiking Sasha 2's
Have any of you on this forum spiked Sasha 2s on your own with just one person assisting? I've read the manual's instructions, but I wondered if there was a way to avoid turning them on their sides to install the spikes. I'm having a hard time imagining getting them back upright with the spikes in without an "unforuntate incident."
Any wisdom based upon actual first hand experience would be appreciated. Pics would make my day. ;-) Last edited by Vhiner; 01-04-2017 at 10:51 PM. |

How about instead of laying them on their sides all the way to the floor lay them across an ottoman. That way when you go to stand them back up you are already 16-18" off the floor so you are lifting them as they slide off to the floor. I've used a large leather ottoman several times though the speakers were not quite as heavy as those.

Thanks, JMD. That's a good suggestion. It's funny how obvious things escape me when I'm in the fog of a new purchase.

Oh I tried it the hard way many times before the light bulb came on. Really came in handy with the Nola's where I had to install platforms and then spikes.

I recall reading in a thread that Ivan uses some furniture lifter jib job to do this with heavy speakers single handed. Maybe he will respond or you could reach out to him?

Mr. Big and mtroo, I am in your debt. I just bought the jack. I'll report back on how it goes, but it looks like it's definitely gonna save my back!

Practice - for when you get Stillpoint 5's for those Sashas. ;-)

So, I will be removing the "frisk" from the speakers this weekend. Anyone have any tips on that process? I've read some people refer to it as "the most daunting aspect of setting the speakers up." Surely that's an exaggeration...or?
