Musical amplifiers.
I currently own a Krell 302e amplifier.
It has been described as very powerful, delivering great punch with the sound considered a bit on the darker side. Got me to thinking about what is considered a musical amp. CJ? Boulder? Mark Levinson? Do you agree that a Krell amp delivers a darker sound? |

This is a loaded question. There will be as many answers as members. You will really need to do some home demos to find out what you like. Or go to the audio shows and get to know what you like and what kind of people are behind the products.

+1 on the home demo. It's all about what you think sounds best in your environment!

I never really considered my MDA-300's dark. They had a grip on the bottom end like almost nothing else and I thought them to be very detailed ... maybe with a touch of grain but extremely detailed. I enjoyed them for many years! I now have MC-601's which have neither the bottom end grip of the Krell or the extreme detail but for me does sound more musical. That said I paired them with a Mark Levinson No326 and the pairing works well together!
