The Sasha has about three time the bass radiating area. So bass definition and dynamics are distinctly better with the Sasha. Nothing is always free. The $10k difference might be well worth it.
But for the meantime, I'll have my eyes set on the Sophia 3s.

Nice close-up photos!! Can't wait to own one of these someday.
I saw your pictures w/ them at their crates.
How many layers of protection are placed after the crates ?
are they easy to pack back in the crates for storage or for moving around ?
Just so concern on the long trip home.
thanks again Aerosmith for sharing your photos & initial impressions.

Very well protected. Very easy to unload and load on the casters. I won't be saving the crates, however. They're just too big to store long term. And these speakers will be here long term. That system is done as far as speakers go (pretty much everything else too).

Thanks! regarding the casters, do these screw into the spike location of the S3s ?
When its time to permanently affix the spikes & replace the casters, how do you do this in a heavy speaker like the S3s ? I can just imagine doing this w/ the maxx and X series.

These questions I can answer after my dealer comes tomorrow and we spike the speakers.

Do you have a Wilson dealer near by that you can talk to? I bet they'd be able to answer any and all questions a lot better than I can. Though I'm happy to help.

I thought the larger speakers came with little "jacks" for installing the spikes. (no joke)

I know with 802d's they suggest you two people lay the speaker on its side install the spikes them lift the speaker back up. They say you can grab the "ball" on top, it will not hurt the speaker. Again, I think the Wilsons come with a device to perform the task.

Just by the way, the Sophia 2's do not have casters. Spiking them is definitely a two man job. Fortunately the spike set-up is very sturdy, which allows one to rock the speakers back onto two spikes while you deal with the other two.

Here are a couple pics of Sophia 2 packing. The crates are massive. Internally there is shaped foam to accept a plastic wrapped speaker, which also has a contact film over the finish (when new).
