Default New FreeStand panel from GIK

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to give you a heads up on a new product we have not officially released but is on the website. Basically next week we will be doing the press release, newsletter and so on.

The product is called the FreeStand Acoustic Panel and is great for those rooms where the doors and windows obstruct the areas where you need absorption. The panel is 2' x 5' and comes with stainless steel supports (or "feet") so the panel does not have to be mounted on the wall and looks pretty darn cool (IMO). Needless to say, I invite you to check it out and let me know your thoughts; and yes we are taking orders (off the website, email or call) and shipping them now.

FreeStand Acoustic Panel (gobo)

Looks like a great product with a small footprint.

I have a 244 on a metal stand to position it in front of a window. The 244 is quite deep and I don't think there is a way to have it closer to the window because it's sticking out a bit.

Glenn,

That's a great product at a FANTASTIC price!

I am a big believer in this type of panels, and being able to move them around (hide them away when not needed) is a huge plus -- especially for those of us who are married :-).

Congratulations!

Alberto

You just nailed the reason we came out with the panel. It is only 2" thick and is around 4" from the wall. Much close then using the stands.

Here is a picture of it I just took to give a better perspective of the size.

I see on the website a 4" thick version can be ordered and used as bass traps.

Can they also be used for absorption or is one better off with the 2"?

These look wonderful and may be just what the acoustic doctor ordered.

If you have the room I do recommend the 4" as it will give you a bit more low end control. That can go either in the corner or in the reflection point. Keep in mind that we can only fit one panel in a box when it is 4" thick, so shipping will be higher. Basically we maximized the 2" panel to just fit within Fedexs "limits" before getting whacked with a huge over sized charge. If you would like send me a email through my company website with your full address, color and I can work up pricing for you.

Glenn, that's awesome.

I need to redo a REW and see if I can improve my treatment further. I'll certainly be buying this product to replace the 244 I currently have.
