Default Sonus Faber Stradivari - still one of the best?

I'm looking at new speakers in the $50k range. My dealer has offered me a trade on some of my equipment for the Focal Maestros. But my interest remains with SF line based on all the great things I've read on AA. Incredible efficiencies of both lines allow me to keep my 2301's. My question is whether the Strads are still the pinnacle in the under $50k SF line and are they still one of the best in the $50k and less speaker bracket? I just can't find a lot of reviews/info out there - even though these speakers have been out for almost 8 years!

Thanks,
Mike

I'll stand on the sidelines on this one.

Mike....... I was just going to suggest it might be worth a flight up to Raleigh, North Carloina to listen to Bob's Stradivari's with the MC2301's. You'll probably be renting a van to get them home.

I believe they are still one of the best speakers one can get. Amazing in every way. If I only had a large enough listening room...

Okay, new day, new post.

Offering a nice payment plan -- need to be out of my house at the end of a 365 day period (clock begins at deal closure). They will be boxed and placed in a corner of a room for safekeeping (i.e., HVAC controlled area).

10% down holds 'em.

This is a Sf 'war game' scenerio -- your position is being overrun by a NJ'ite ...what to do? Call in air support of F15's, B52's, B-1B's, B-2's, AC130 Spectre gunships, AH-64 Apache gunships, A10's Warthogs, E-3 Sentry, or implement a counter offensive tactic and confirm an offer.

Do not worry that there are no reviews out there to assist in the decision process. It comes down to what pleases your ear.

Both of the speakers you are considering are excellent options. I would suggest you take a quick drive or flight up to Bob's. You can hear the Strad's with 2301's which should be very familiar to you. Then it is up to you to write your own review of how they compare to the Focals at your dealer.

Jim

His Strads are up north.

Best
