How many outlets does this have on the back and what type of circuit is it meant to be connected to? 15A, 20A, or higher?

I didn't need to be blind to hear what they did to the sound just breathing.

Everybody has their own take on certain products. There are multitude on reasons as to why we select the gear we have in our systems. It can be the sound, design, what products your dealer carries, price and so on. Everyone gets to vote with their wallet.

The Stromtank model S 5000 is an independent power source for audio equipment. It's a battery power source created by the founder of Mbl Wolfgang Meletzky. The S 5000 has a 5000 Wh capacity with 4000 W peak performance. The unit weighs 253.5 lbs and is full of LiFePo4 batteries. There are many neat things about this battery supply, including the fact that it could run the show system (Audio Alchemy components) for nearly two days before requiring a recharge. Once the unit needs recharging it can automatically reconnect to the grid, and still allow playback of the audio components without a glitch. This is really a cool unit. I believe the MSRP will be around $28,000.

I believe the unit will be distributed in the US by D'Agostino's Master Audio Systems. I think my dealer may bring one in to his store but I am not sure there will be too many home trials since it weighs 259 lbs. I should be seeing Dan and Petra Friday evening and plan on asking them their thoughts.

Jim, were you ever able to ask your dealer or Dan and Petra what their thoughts are about the Stromtank? It seems to hold great promise. Thanks.

I don't doubt the benefits of clean power from a power inverter but this thing costs more than a Chevy VOLT.

At $28K, I doubt that they'll have to sell very many to be in the black!

Not much makes sense in this hobby. Amps can cost as much as a Porsche.

Hi Jim,

You should speak with Le Roy (Odyssey) about the Stromtank. He did a home demo of it in his system.

Best,
Ken

That beast will provide good clean power to your equipment, much like how batteries powered steel hull naval submarines. I️ also seen this at RMAF and thought it was a great piece. The maker is related in someway to D’Agostino, as I️ asked about the round dial being very close to the Momentum and the VP Bill said yes, it was controversial but because there was a relation between D’Agostino and StroMtank they let it be, anyone else would have seen legal.

Bill walked me over to it while the system was playing and unplugged it with no disruption in music.

Yes the price of this will limit its sales, and space will come into play but I️ would think with global reach they will find an audience. Looking at from a manufacturing view, if they sell 14 units a week, that’s somewhere around 20M at a 50% to 60% gross margin.

In the end I️ have come to see and hear a lot of this gear is good to great and your talking about gaining points for $K’s, back to what your willing to spend for your own satisfaction unless your in some type of competition. I️ also have grown to like the term “it will blow it away”.

Anyway, happy listening!
