Dynamics, like I've never heard. The speed and attack is insane. Everything just holds together much better than the tubes. The Sf Il Cremonese have reach a level I can't believe. The midrange and upper extension is every bit as delicate and airy as the ref250se, just more of it. But I think the best part of the D'ags is in the impulse response of the bass. I've been searching for this kind of bass for years, it's intense. The grip and extension is exhilarating!

If you do not have budget for Monument try and listen Clasic Stereo. The simple entry level amp won with Ref150(kt150) in my system and help me to drive my Sasha. Dynamic, control of bass, details were much better, no problems with tubes/heat/bias and magic of sound stay the same.

Congratulations on your M400s!
DAG and ARC play well together. Now, an all DAG combination is even better. At least that has been my experience. Enjoy!

Congratulations, the D'Ag Amplication is fantastic.
Whilst I was considering whether to stay with ARC amplification, or go with D'Ag Momentum, during an A-B demonstration of the two at KJW1 driving ML CLX's I was struck as much by the similarities as apposed to any dissimilarities of the two topologies. However and purely MHO it was the exceptional organic nature in the way the ARC portrayed stringed instruments that opened up a lead over tha D'Ag for me , in particular on the day Pierre Fournier's recording of JS Bach 6 Suites for Solo Violoncello BMV 1007-1010, and the delicious liquidity the REF250's delivered on a number of tracks from 'Lady Sings The Blues' on red book. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lady-Sings-.../dp/B00005V94O It was so close that I am still considering acquiring D'Ag SS as an alternative to running so many valves during the summer months. |
