Default Accuphase shop(s) in Tokyo

Hi guys,

I am wondering whether anybody is able to recommend me an Accuphase shop in Tokyo (Akihabara) and/or in Sapporo. Next week I will be in Japan for a conference and I will be staying almost a week in Tokyo and another week in Sapporo. To make her life easier, my dear wife has booked our hotel in Tokyo in the Akihabara district. This should make my search easier. However, as far as I understand Akihabara is big and going there without a plan (i.e. without a specific address or shop name) is not a good idea. I am mostly interested in visiting an "authentic" Accuphase shop, and I am not looking at buying a particular Accuphase unit (maybe, if the price is right, a DG-58 and/or a pair of Accuphase ASLC cables). I would be very interested, however, in buying some Oyaide power plugs.

Any suggestions, e.g. shop names or shop addresses, are welcome.

I thank you in advance!
Paul

There are a couple of hi-fi shops in Akihabara vicinity (opposite side of Yodobashi-Akiba from the JR station), Dynamic Audio is also there. AudioUnion is at Ochanomizu, one stop away from Akihabara.

Why not just write an email to Accuphase and ask for their help , i think i would also have done that.
Must be interesting to go to Tokyo...hope you will have an interesting stay.

Rvl and fgchong, thank you very much! I google the name of the shops you have suggested and I have found some addresses. While it is not always clear that the addresses found are the addresses of the actual shops, I should be able to find the shops. (I have sent an email to Audio Union. Hopefully, they will reply in time.) Thanks again guys!

FDPDK, I did not bother as this is a sensitive subject for Accuphase and its dealers. My Accuphase dealer was rather unhappy when I told him I am going to Japan and I plan to check out some hi-fi shops.

I can't imagine the face of your dealer when you told him your going to Japan to check out some Accuphase gear. From the looks of your Accuphase gear he should be very unhappy hehehhe.

I wonder why

Anyway, you better find Accuphase dealers addresses before you go. Walking around while I was visiting Tokyo, I've searched Akihabara, Ginza, Shinjuku and other areas, but I've not found ANY single store with Accuphase gear.
The most hi-end hardware I found was some Luxman gear.

But I read that for example in Akiahabara, often those specialized stores are not located on the street level but in upper floors and you don't see them.

Anyway, I think that regarding Japanese prices, PriceJapan is hard to beat compared to physical Japanese stores.

Yes, but is Price Japan reputable. I think Audio Cubes might, I say might be better...

NVP and Mattia,

In Akihabara you have to go to Tereon. This shop is an official dealer of Accuphase products.
I bought my Accuphase gears at Audiounion in Shinjuku but there is another Audiounion shop in Ochanomizu(walking distance or one metro station from Akihabara).

I think I don't have to mention but remember that Japan voltage is 100v and I heard it is not easy to convert to 120v as it was long time ago.

By the way, Dynamic Audio is not an Accuphase dealer but they have an entire 6 floors building with wonderful show-rooms.

I hope it helps you.

Marcos
