You have to admit that Sonus does make it easy. Not unlike what their northern Italian neighbors do with cars.

Mr. Metaphacts, this is off topic, however, since i am a proud, proud owner of the Liuto in beautiful smoked oak, according to the collections list below, are you implying that the tower wood sounds different from the original tower. im sorry to take your time with this but you know how us proud owners are.

Sonus faber have taken grief in some quarters for rushing to develop very expensive models, but as new owners of the company, FineSounds felt it important to show homage to the rich design heritage while developing new technologies to build on those prior successes. FineSounds felt Sonus owners needed to see the vision that their cherished company would not only be protected, but strengthened.

Sonus faber "Collections" however were defined by the previous management. I think it would be instructional to pay attention to the design path since FineSounds took over full control of that aspect of the company. That will help you to see where they are headed.

These designs will inform everything going forward. You don't build an F1 car by developing a street car first. You build an F1 car and use the technologies to develop a superior street car. FineSounds will continue to bring technology downstream over the next few years until you have the kind of coherent Sonus faber presentation we did a few years ago.

So it is actually very easy to see the hierarchy today. Will Elipsa SE replace Elipsa? Not unless the Elipsa stops selling completely. The SE is an upgrade well worth the difference if the buyer can afford the step. (As for the variant exclusive to one market, you might ask yourself why TSf, Futura, Evolution, and Aida were not designed with that tweeter.)

Think back to the days of the Homage/Classic/Domus product hierarchy. Fill in a hole here and there and extend the top (already done with TSf and Aida) and you will have a feel for where the next couple of years will take us.
