New In Glider 2.0 for Bryston BDP Digital Players
• Generic MPD device support is now available, making Glider the only app on any platform to support all streaming protocols including: UPnP/DLNA, OpenHome, MPD, AirPlay and Chromecast. Many MPD devices will be auto-discovered, but a new option has been added to add an MPD device using the IP address and port number. • A new 'Analog' display mode allows you to focus on album-based listening with a distraction free experience. Play full albums, one at a time with no extraneous features. • Recently added albums are now displayed on the main Library screen, and the Albums view has a new 'Recently Added' sort option. Your history of recently added albums will be stored in iCloud and will be restored during a delete and re-install of the app. • You can now easily add files to Glider using the iOS Files App, the 'Share' button in Safari, and AirDrop from your Mac. • Last.fm integration has been added to automatically scrobble whatever's playing in Glider. If you're listening without an internet connection, then your scrobbles will be stored locally and synced to Last.fm when your connection returns. Bug Fixes: • Properly order tracks in the queue When playing multi-disc albums • Allow local iTunes files to stream at the native resolution without downconverting • Sync fixes for MyCloudEX2Ultra NAS drives To test this app, open TestFlight on your iOS device using iOS 10.0 or later and install the update. |

Hi James,
Are these still the recommend apps today? I got a BDP2 recently and have been limping along with Manic Moose so far but it is difficult to use on an iPhone or iPod. Stefan |

Yes if you are not using MM - especially RIGELIAN - Apple Store - as he has written a special version for the BDP's james |

I second this. I am using Rigelian and it is very nice. Support is excellent and it is updated every month or so. Many new features often introduced as well. The developper seems to listen to the user base. BDP + Onboard SSD + Rigelian is the way to go.

If you have an iPhone or iPad, you should at least give it a try and see for yourself if you like it. Annual subsciption is 4.49$ and I believe the first two months are free. No affiliation by the way.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I had run the demo version of Rigelian and it works great now that I have an internal HDD. There was a problem IIRC with accessing files on a network PC. The paid version should be a dream.
MM only uses a tiny portion of the screen for the most important function, browsing files or Tidal, which is almost unusable on an iPod or iPhone when combined with the fact that it constantly loses its place and it’s easy to make a major mistake and select the wrong thing. It’s a bit better on a tablet or laptop. Rigelian uses a large portion of the display for navigating, like any other native music app or streaming service one might be familiar with. |

Does the registered version of Rigelian support playback from a network drive?
Just from the trial version I cannot see any way to browse a shared network folder. It can only browse folders local to the BDP. MM media player can see the folders under “upnp” but it is not reliable. They are all red or empty. |

Hi Folks,
I’m happy to inform you that Rigelian is now also available as a Mac app from the Mac App Store. So you can use this BDP control interface on your MAC laptop or computer as well as your Iphone and Ipad. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/rigeli...363775934?mt=8 |
