There is an interesting little button added to the front: -20dB.
I guess it has to do with a -20dB lowering of the Vu meters? Altering the scale? What is the purpose of this, and how does it work.. |

It is also present in the A-46 (in the metering options switch on the left), for when you utilize so little power that the VU meter would only barely move in normal mode.
In the A-47 what was added is the "hold" position, on the switch. The -20 was simply given is personal button. Last edited by Mattia; 09-04-2015 at 10:35 AM. |

thank you for reply and explanation.
so with pushing the button, the meter gets a 20db boost for really low level output listening, and so the meter starts to 'show' again. Nice gesture. Would be nice to adjust the brightness of the lights too. Well that's maybe something for the A48 |

Exactly!

Would you like them more o less bright? I normally shut them off completely (indicators and lights). |

Suggested retail price for the eu market is 10k.
With permission, i do think the A47 has the sweetspot for class A line. There is also the price performance ratio to be considered. As to what i understand, there is a performance gain achieved by using a different output safety device. It used to be some sort of relay, now its done electronically. Not mentioning the higher damping factor which gives acces to even broader range of speakers out there.. On a personal note i' m more then interested in the A47. No more USA gear for me, thats for sure, and sorry to say |

Which preamplifier did you listen to the A47 with?

Do the lights go dim when switched to meters off position?

I speak for the A-46, but I think it is the same.
When you set the meters off, also the meters light shuts off. The "Accuphase" light and the small red leds remain on, with the same intensity. |

Thank you for following up the trivial questions.
To keep in line with AA native talk: I could pull the trigger on this one.. |

"Trivial" to a certain point: I use my Accuphase gear in my totally black home cinema, also for video material, and the backlit "Accuphase" logos are like lighthouses in the night
