Hello AA Family,

PS released the latest update today for Direct Stream that includes MQA. It looks like it may only work through Tidal and not Roon.

Has anyone been able to get this to play?

So after 6 hours of Huron, it is simply stunning. What a awesome improvement across the board.

I was a bit behind in firmware, the jump from Yale to Huron is a must.

Might have something to do with the Alexia's breaking in [emoji41]

Exactly what I thought! So I reloaded the Yale firmware, and then swapped back to Huron. Dramatic difference between the two IMO.

Putting the Bridge II (MQA) update into the DS Junior as we speak. Exciting!

Default PS Audio DirectStream DAC

Mcontrol app, free version is the one that supports MQA assuming you are running Huron on Direct Stream. Ensure you select the bridge as the playback, highlight the radio select within the app for HiFi, and of course you need to sign into Tidal. Your DAC will display FLAC and the 24 bit sample, but believe the rate is limited to 196k

So far, so good, hope this helps save time for someone, everyone [emoji1305]

yep DAC screen says "PCM 192 - 24 bit", also MQA plus other relevant information. In general MQA through the PS Audio DSJ sounds quite nice, fast but still reasonably engaging although clearly some recordings are better than others. I do not see a massive, massive difference over standard FLAC but a pleasant one nonetheless.

OMG - if you're at all interested in the spinning disks, check out the DirectStream Memory Player. Hearing SACD like I never heard it before. I bought it because I was committed after the value I'd gotten out of the DAC (2 upgrades and MQA, for free) and I wanted to be completely format agnostic - if it sounds good, I want to play it. I was missing a disc spinner, so I gave it a whirl. It even makes plain old CDs listenable again.

Wow.

I am very much liking the Directstream Memory Player. It is a great compliment to the Directstream DSD DAC.
