Default Surround and ceiling speakers for Wilson Audio?

Does anyone have any recommendations for Surround and Ceiling speakers to use with Wilson Audio products. I currently own Alexia's and a Mezzo synergy center channel. I'm upgrading my Theta CB4 to CB4a with "atmos" and I want to install 4 ceiling speakers and get 4 surround speakers for the rear and side channels. I know that the Wilson Alida's or duette 2's would be a good match for the surrounds but I'm trying trying to find something a little more budget friendly and Wilson does not offer a ceiling speaker that I am aware of. From my reading about "atmos" they recommend bookshelf or floorstanding speakers to be at equal ear height to the front speakers so mostly I'm trying to find a manufacturer that might use similar tweeter/midrange drivers.

Thanks!

Wilson has photos of folks using the Alidas as ceiling speakers but I think those would be a total eye sore.

I'm a big fan of Revel loudspeakers.

On wall or stand mount surround: Ultima Gem2

Ceiling mount: C763L

If your Theta has Dirac, it will "timber" match all speakers, making the selection of the atmo speaker less critical. Paradigm has a full line of very well engineered speakers that are less expensive than the wilsons that would work well. However, the Dirac will make these selections less critical. Unlike the "old" way of thinking about this - a lesser speaker corrected with Dirac for the sides and rears will work better than a "better" speaker uncorrected in that regard. Also, I see in your profile above that you have a watchdog controller. If you have dirac in your processor, you could easily eliminate that from the signal path.

Interesting thoughts... Thank you. I will have to play around with Dirac and my sub when I get my upgraded unit back.

Aah - so you will have Dirac. Ilf that's the case, you can definitely eliminate the controller, it i just an additional piece of analog electronics to degrade the signal. Dirac will do the distance calculation to properly integrate your sub. I'm not familiar with the theta implementation of dirac, but with the datasat, you can then additional adjust the delays if needed after dirac has done its thing. This can be really helpful with sub integration, however, dirac should do it correctly or get it close enough that you can make very small adjustments from that starting point. Also, play around wit the crossover frequency of the sub to mains - don't assume 80 hz will or will not be best - depends on the room interaction.

Default Golden Ear speakers

I used the Golden Ear Invisa HTR 7000 ceiling speakers (4) in my ATMOS set-up using a Marantz 8802a processor with good results. They seem to integrate well with my Wilson speakers. My main speakers are Wilson Sashas, with a Watch Center, Watch Surrounds (2) and a JL F113 sub, making mine a 5.1.4 system. The Golden Ear speakers have gotten favorable reviews in the home theater press. To be honest, I didn't think the surrounds needed to be "high end" although they come from a reputable company known for offering good bang for the buck. In addition, the HTR 7000's can be aimed so that the tweeter can be directed toward the listener(s) which enhances the ATMOS experience.

I used Krix in-ceiling speakers for surrounds/rears in a 7.1 configuration and would buy them again without question.
