Hurricane Irma

Photos of my pool deck and the waterway my house is on (it opens a few hundred yards away into the open part of Biscayne Bay and the ocean. The top photo is at about 10:00 am Sunday. High tide was about 12:30 pm. It was a king tide (due to the moon, unrelated to the storm) so without the storm the tide would be about 2 feet higher than normal. The lower photo was taken around 2:45 pm. So after high tide came at 12:30, while the tide was going out the water leek kept going up. What you see in the bottom photo is about 8 feet of storm surge.

Robert.......That second photo is disheartening. Water is merciless when it intrudes uninvited. I hope you are managing to recover as quickly as possible and return to normal.

I was very fortunate. When I built my house built it up with some extra elevation so the living level of my house go no water in it. My garage got about 7" of water in it but considering what could have been, it was almost a gift.
