Yes, I was running a Hana EL for a time. I still have it though don't use it anymore. I picked up a few cartridges which perform significantly better (Supex SD900 Super, Fidelity Research FR-1 Mk3, Grace F9E with Soundsmith Ruby stylus)

I bought one for my VPI Classic 3/3D arm. It continues to amaze me. This in comparison to a Basis 2800, Superarm 9, Lyra Atlas m/c.

Well.............. while the top Hana cartridge is getting excellent reviews, it would be difficult for me to believe that it stands up to the Lyra Atlas. If so, then at 10X+ the Hana cost for the Atlas, folks are certainly getting taken for a ride.

At no time did I say the Hana is as good as the Atlas. That is foolish. But the Hana offers a lot as the professional reviewers have stated and that it does many things well. A Hana will work well in many systems. Read nothing else into this.

Last week I did something I have never done before. While checking the alignment, I broke the cantilever on my Ortofon Quintet red cartridge. This week, I have a Hana SL. I did not plan on buying a cartridge at this time, since I had just purchased a Benchmark AHB2 amp three months ago.
While it is an improvement over the Ortofon it’s still too new to talk about the differences.
One dealer had told me that the Hana is the best cartridge under $1000. Another dealer recommended it over a couple of cartridges that I had been considering, the Dynavector 10x5, and the Denon 103.

I just replaced my Sumiko #2 on my MT2 with the Hana SL. Wow, what a difference, money well spent.

Funny (or maybe not) how the price went from $600 to $750 in less than two years. A nice little 25% jack up.

Not as bad as the SoundSmith line, the Zephyr went from 799 to 999 then to 1499 in just a few years. When you consider it's just their SMMC3 with a Corian and brass body that it literally plugs into, it's pretty mind blowing. But good for them, get it while you can as the vinyl resurgence won't last forever.
