AES/EBU vs XLR for Analog Connection
Hey Everyone:
I was curious if it's OK to use AES/EBU interconnects for analog (pre to power) connections? I thought the AES/EBU was just to keep a standard of 110ohm impedance characteristic among cables and isn't much different than regular XLR (other than a consistent impedance). Anyone have any thoughts? It seems to be OK from what I'm reading. Thanks! |

You are correct. AES subbing for an XLR is fine. The other way could also work as long as the XLR is true 110 ohm (all XLRs are supposed to be).

Thanks for the reply! I thought it would be ok and I found some information on the manufacturers website.
