So why is the Powerflux 18 cable only available in one length?

Ivan.......I really like the Furutech phono cable with Din plug. I would love to put that phono cable on my Michell Gyro SE/SME309 rig but there isn't enough clearance for the Din plug the way Furutech manufactures the right angle Din. It is too thick for my application.

Dan,

Yes, I had this exact problem with a Grover's cable that used the Furutech 90 degree DIN. It just will NOT fit with the L-shaped bottom frame of the Michell Gyro and SME arm.

I had Zu make me up a custom run of Mission using a Cardas 90 deg. DIN that fits perfect. They even burned it in on the cable cooker for me, because, as you know, it takes FOREVER to burn in a phono cable with the low voltages from a moving coil cartridge. Worked out great; still using it.

Dan, I'm using a Cardas Neutral Ref. phono cable on my Michell GyroDec with a straight DIN connector and it exits through the bottom of the case with no problem. Can you use a straight DIN and if so does the Furutech come with a straight DIN connector. I can snap a picture if you want to see.

Use of a different arm might allow the use of a straight DIN connector on the Michell. Dan and I both use an SME arm.

I would love to try the Silver Arrows and compare to my Nordost Valhalla, Tyr and AG-12.
Personally, straight din for me as that will fit all my tables, although right angle will fit the Graham arm.

Good to dream

Furutech Silver Arrows is an awesome cable. Always fabulous straight out of the box but...It is best to have it plugged into a phono cable burner for say two or three weeks & then seriously WOW!

I've had my new Silver Arrows cable in place for a little over a week on an SME table and thought I'd post initial impressions. It replaced a Graham IC70 which was also quite good. That cable has now found a home on my Garrard 301 where it replaced a Grover cable that had an irritating hum which has now disappeared!

I've been playing a range of of my best 45 rpm jazz recordings and have been very pleased with the synergy of my system. I've convinced myself that there's an improvement in refinement after lightweight A/B testing. The vibes on "Bags and Trane" for example are more detailed but without any trace of harshness. Vocals remain warm but seem to have a little bit more texture and realism without bringing forth unwelcome graininess.

I'm using a Koetsu Rosewood Signature so your results may be less favorable with cartridges that are more detailed but then again maybe not. This was one of my most expensive cable purchases even with member friendly pricing from Ivan. Nonetheless this is a beautifully crafted masterpiece at a critical juncture of my system. We'll see if it continues to evolve with break in. I think it was a worthwhile improvement.

Very glad to hear your new Silver Arrows cable is performing to your liking.
