Default Wire World power cables vs Kimber PK10 Palladian

Hello;

I originally posted this over on the Wire World section where it was suggested I may get more responses here in the genernal cable section.

I'm reading nothing but great things about the Wire World products with a number of great comparisons to Kimber products and I think Ivan will have me sold hook line and sinker on Wire World when it comes time to upgrade my cables. There hasn't been much if any comparison that I have seen of a Wire World power cord say either the Silver Electra, Gold Electra or brand spanking new Platinum to Kimber's reference power cord the PK10 Palladian so I'm curious if anyone has had the opportunity to do so and what were the findings?

Thanks,

Rod

Suggest you examine more than just what people say they hear from a particular cable. Investigate the type and gauge of copper or silver used, the thickness of the silver if copper clad in Silver, and the materials and process used to make the connectors. Other issues would be the construction of the cable including type of dieletric and shielding, capacitance, inductance, etc. (based on how the cable will be used).

Thanks for the reply. Excellent suggestion. With the Wire World stuff a lot of that is on the manufacturers web site as is the Kimber specs on their site so comparisons can be done for some of those items fairly easy but the Kimber is a bit of a mystery because similar to Transparant Audio they have a, lets call it a mechanism built into the cable for which there is no specs on.

Mystery is part of the cable business. Rely on sound science.

Wireworld Aurora power cables increased the height of my soundstage when used on my Wyred 4 Sound amps.

Mystery, is that a polite way of saying Witchcraft?

Like Joe Friday from Dragnet, search for the facts, and then trust your ears.

It sounds like your on the right track trying to do some comparisons from their web sites.

Rod,
You may want to subscribe to AA so you can reap the benefits of the "for sale" section. There are some good deals to be had at times, including cables.
