Problem with digital cable (HDMI especially) is that there is a lot of rubbish out there that is dressed with $1 flexo braid to look high quality. Also don't believe the boy at Radio Parts when he tries to give you his one's & zero's interpreation on digital runs, convinced that his Pro2 will perform the same in any event. Why is it that his cable has starburst at 1080p on a 55" and the more expensive cable doesn't? Use a cheap cable especially when > 3m and your one's and zero's will be genetically altered. Degradation of the data stream is a gradual decline to a threshold limit which is the tolerance level of the standard (i.e. complete DNA breakdown).

I'd be interested to know the general consensus of members as to your Digital Audio/Digital AV source hookup preferences & the choices you have made for your various applications. Whether that be HDMI, dual HDMI (split video and audio eg. Oppo-95 BDP Denon DVD-A1UD), HDMI+TosLink, HDMI+Digital Coaxial.
I am also interested in taking advantage of the MCD1100 D/A stage & will definitely be experimenting with the DAC inputs for my 2 channel sources. eg. Bitstream/PCM Toslink from Denon AVP-A1HDA (internet radio, media server stream). What is the preferred connection method for digital audio-in to DAC? BNC 75ohm, Digital Coaxial, Optical Toslink? Some may say that performance is a moot point between digital input types but I guess it really depends on the quality of the component & its implementation. Then there are subtle characteristics associated with the chord and its termination. Appreciate your input especially McIntosh Source & Denon Source owners.
