Ah, I see lol. I've been waffling back & forth but I'll be placing an order for 2 more canes myself this week. And the waiting begins anew :/

So, I ordered two Hurricane power cords and one Tornado. I have one Hurricane going from my amp to the power conditioner and one from the power conditioner to the wall(Shunyata outlet). I use the Tornado on my DAC. I want to be as succinct as possible without hyperbole! I like to preface my findings with "in my system" and "in my room". Simply put the new Audioquest power cords lower the noise floor. I'm not talking night and day, but to a degree that allows everything to be more easily heard. Music has weight to it and minor details are more apparent than ever. My frame of reference with power cords is relatively small...I've had Wireworld Silver and Platinum Electras, Shunyata Alphas and Sigmas, and Audioquest NRG-4s in my system. I'll order two more Hurricane power cords and call it a day. Although the differences aren't night and day, these are the type of improvements so many of us drool over and spend lots and lots of money for.

How does the AQ cane compare to the NRG4? In more detail please? I have the NRG4, 10, Wel NRG x4. It's my way of getting a frame of reference.

Both of my Hurricane's are 20 amp cords; therefore I couldn't compare the two.

I've had NRG-3, NRG-5, NRG-10, NRG-1000, NRG WEL and now Hurricanes. (The last ones are still on their way, unfortunately). The NRG-5 is the cable to begin with if you want a cheap and effective power cable from AQ (not on sale anymore but it can be found on the SH market). It's PSC+ and I believe that's something to begin with. The NRG-10 has a little more resolution, bass and is more dynamic. I've done a comparison between NRG-10 and NRG-1000 in an older post so I won't do it here anymore. The NRG-WEL is more of everything but not by much... And it's not always a good match with power amps/integrated amps. Furthermore it seems darker at times even though the highs are more extended than with the cables below it. It's somehow recessed... That's why my bet is that the Hurricanes are better!

I decided to borrow another Audioquest Tornado to go from my preamp to the power conditioner. I didn't expect much, because I already have three Audioquest cords, but I was wrong. So wrong, I decided to purchase one 15 amp Dragon source power cord and see where it goes best.

Just had a Dragon HC 2m power cord in my system on trial. Put it between wall socket and PS Audio P10 initially. Best I have ever heard my system sound...

Moved it to individual items of equipment and lost the overall improvement, only the item receiving power from the cable benefitted.

Maybe I'll start a poll. I'm interested in opinions on upgrading power cords. What components benefit the most from upgraded power cords? I'm still baffled by the impact of changing the power cord on my preamp.
