My MX-135.....
My Mx-135 experienced a glitch back in September. We had a mid afternoon power glitch in our area, where the power flaked out for like 1 second and right back on again. It happened so fast my HTS-5100 and AVS2000 Signatures did not stay powered down, neither did the Mx-135. Instead, all 3 powered back up immediately.
This caused the Mx-135 to flake out in some way. I lost all AV, video, digital and ancillary inputs and outputs, along with the ability to hear sound on any of them, other than the Main Unbalanced and Balanced outputs. The only inputs that respond are EXTERNAL, and you can listen thru that input but no others. Sound and tone controls are fine, but no sound from any Surround Mode, save External, which sounds fine. No Phono stage either. I did a reset with the power button, no change. Powered down and let sit, no change. Hit setup to try a master reset. No change and no video to access the menu on-screen. Once I get my other problem child, MVP-861's VF display cured, I'll tackle that next. Anyone here ever have anything or hear anything like this happen? The Piggyback board on the Mother board has status lamps all green. If it is that board, they are NLA from the manufacturer. With such low hours, I'd hate to have to scrap the MX. FWIW, I do have a C2500 running backup, and while it sounds great with my VPI Prime Signature and analog tape decks, the Mx-135 has the edge on digital processing, IMO. I'm also without a hub for video switching. Which makes multimedia watching and listening an major PITA for the moment.
