Thanks Ryan.
For those unfamiliar with Ryan he is a local recording engineer with golden ears.
Best,
Mike S.

Nice review, Ryan. It always does my heart good to hear about a recording engineer who "believes" in wire. ;-)

I was very reluctant, Vhiner, but in the end, I couldn't deny what I hear, 😳. Besides, when guys like Bob Ludwig are out there as believers (granted, likely sponsored) it's hard to bury your head in the sand and emphatically deny that the possibility doesn't even exist that cables can make a difference.

I teach my students that ANYTHING in the recording chain can change the sound. It just seems like a load of B.S. to me that some gear designers and recording engineers in my industry will choose one capacitor over another, or one piece of gear over another because of sonic differences and manufacturing methods, then turn around a say that wire is wire 😊, but to each his/her own, haha!

You are *so* right. The late, great Doug Sax also "listened" to wire. Proof's in the pudding, as they say.

These cables still working out pretty well for everyone? I'm hung up between the Cobra (can get a really good deal) and the Venom myself. They'll be going between an Audeze Deckard DAC (temporarily, until I can upgrade to a higher end unit) and an Eddie Current Zana Deux Super, and a pair of Audeze LCD-X headphones. I know this isn't really a headphone oriented forum, but y'all have a lot of knowledge of the Shunyata products floating around here, so I figured I'd roll the dice. Planning on the PS8 upgrade after the DAC.

Weird we haven't seen more reviews of these products, especially on sites like Absolute Sound who reviewed the Venom PS8/Defender/HC package a few years ago.
