Default New Venom Series: ICs and signal cables, USB

Are we ready to discuss Shunyata's newest offerings? From what I can determine these are going to sit in their line just below their top-of-the-line offerings. Does that seem about right? At the same time, it looks like the materials and craftsmanship will be second to none. I'll be curious to watch these roll out.

In their power cables the Venom line is their value or entry-level cable, before stepping up to the Ztron range. In the signal cables, the Ztron range is well established with Anaconda at the top and Python and Cobra below. There is no corresponding entry-level signal cable as in the power cables, so I suspect that's where these new Venom signal cables will fall.

Yes, that is correct. The Venom XLR's are $295 for a 1m pair and the speaker cables are $595 per 2m pair.

Even more than with our Venom power products, Caelin's gone out of his way to make these special by using OHNO Continuous Cast copper, VTX (virtual tube) conductors, electrostatic shielding, our own connectors etc. With so many cables on the market, it was critical to hit a high mark of quality and value. Based on our comparisons, I think we've done that but time will tell. Let us know what you think if you decide to try a set.

Best regards,

Grant

Excellent Grant, thank you. It's nice to see you bring Shunyata quality to this range, which I suspect will blow away cables from the likes of the big AQ at this level. I've just gone to Ztron Cobra interconnects and the Z-SP10 speaker cables myself and couldn't be happier (well, maybe happier if I could have afforded Anacondas!) Perhaps these new Venoms will be the next step for my second system.

How soon will the new Venom cables be available at local dealers? I am very interested in hearing these new cables.

The Venom Series are shipping to dealers now, so they are currently available for audition.

Best regards,

Grant

I heard the Venom line is made in China. Is that correct?

Hi Taters.

The Venom Signal cables use Ohno Continuous Cast Copper, produced in only two factories in the world, both in Japan. The stock-length cables are constructed in Asia due to the 4x reduced construction cost. We had the stock-lengths mass assembled overseas and the machine-made molded, hollow-core conductor (VTX) wire made there as well. That is why we can offer these products at prices under $300 for the IC pair and $600 for the speaker cable pair. We hand assemble all the custom-length cables.

If we were to use the metal work factories and hand labor here, these cables would cost close to $1000 for the IC's and over $1400 for the speaker cables. Caelin controlled literally every construction material; the CDA 101 Copper metals, STIS(interchangeable speaker cable connectors), XLR and RCA connectors, sleeves and dielectrics. We feel these cables represent the very best products that we are capable of producing in terms of performance for the price. Time on the market and feedback will tell whether we did the job we are know for.

Thanks for he question, Taters.

Grant

Grant, I appreciate all your help and Shunyata's commitment to building affordable high performance cables. As a now retired audiophile, I can only dream of megabuck cables. I have replaced all my power cords with Black Mamba power cords.

Next I was thinking about replacing my old Audio Research grey litzlink interconnects and speaker cables. I had thought about replacing my cables one by one with Shunyata Cobra cables. But how do the new Venom cables sound compared to the Cobra? From the pictures I have seen, the Venom cables look very impressive. I am wondering just how the newer Venom compare with Shunyata's higher end cables. One of the problems is that I need a 5 meter run from my amp to my preamp. As you know that can get expensive real quick.

My system is all Audio Research. Ref 5se, Ref 110 and Ref CD7. My speakers are Sonus Faber Elipsa SE. Thanks!
