Do you think it would function well? I also own a hidra 2 with a Venon HC to outlet powering a ARC Pre Amp Ref 2 MK2 with a PC Venon HC and MLevinson Power Amp 334 with a PC PS Audio Statement. Could I have some advice in this Forum? Thank you all in advance.
Lalodi,

Welcome to AA! This is a great place to get help. Could you be a bit clearer about what you want to know? For example, are you wanting to upgrade but are unsure where to start? When you ask whether "it" would function well, it's not clear to me what you mean.

Thank you Vhiner.
My question is: as there are not much reviews of Hydra 2 and even Guardian Pro 2 on the Net, are there both well dimensioned to my both systems?

Hi,

The first system looks fine as is, but if its within your budget, you could consider an upgrade to a Venom Digital power cord for the CD3. This would offer a nice improvement in clarity.

For the second system, again, depending on your budget, you could consider an Alpha HC for your Hydra 2 to wall connection and perhaps a Zi-Tron Viper for your Levinson 334. I think the Venom HC to the Ref 2 mk2 is adequate.

I hope this helps. I recommend working through a dealer that can offer you access for an evaluation.

Feel free to e-mail us at cservice@shunyata.com for personal system advice.

Best regards,

Grant

Yes, the Guaradian Pro 2 and Hydra 2 are more than adequate to the components you have plugged into them, both in terms of current capability and performance. The power cords I mentioned, would be areas for consideration if you were looking to improve upon what you have.

If the Oppo is used as a transport you can use the Alpha Digital.

The DAC can use the Digital cable or the HC at a slightly higher cost.
Caelin:

Does your recommendation for power cables on the Oppo 105D change if it is being used as a full universal player, not just a transport feeding the DAC? I use if for playing blu-ray shiny discs as well as to play SACD's. Some day I will have a full music/video server but until then...

Thanks again for your participation here!

Yes, the Alpha Digital would be my first choice.

The Venom Digital is also a good cable for the Oppo. When compared to the Alpha cable most people would choose the Alpha but it is more than twice the cost.
