I'm not a fan of 'reality' shows, sometimes I am forced to watch.....only one tv...it's a nightmare.

It keeps the parents entertained (and quiet ). Bright colors, big set and fancy costumes, kind of reminds them of the old days with those over the top musicals.

Like any show, you can get sucked in after watching it for a couple of times. Each "star" has a history and may of been in some part of your past. One star is a war hero and it makes you want to pull for him after you've heard his awful story.
My wife watches the show and I kinda got sucked in. Chaz Bono definitely added to the drama. And then Cher showing up added even more. The judges are interesting too. It's not my favorite show by any means, but if you want to hang out with your spouse, sometimes you end up doing or watching things that may not be your first choice. Not a big deal.

I agree on the have to spend time with the spouse, watching her TV , This is when I use the ipad to cruise audio aficionado while hanging out.
